Become a Mediator
Volunteer to Mediate

Make an Impact If you would like to make an impact in your own life as well as in your community, consider becoming a volunteer mediator.

Our mediators receive 40 hours of training to do general civil mediation. There are also advanced courses available for people who would like to mediate domestic cases, special education cases, or other more specialized types of issues.

What are the Benefits?

Mediation is a creative way to bring peace to the community. How does it benefit you?

• You will increase your communication ability.
• You will learn a new skill for your personal and professional life.
• You will help people solve problems.
• Mediation usually generates immediate results. It is very gratifying!

What is the commitment?

We ask our volunteers to mediate one case per month or more, based on their availability. A mediation session is typically 2-3 hours long. Cases are usually scheduled during the day; evening appointments are available by special arrangement, depending on the needs of the participants.
