What Is Mediation?
Mediation is the opportunity for people with a dispute to meet in a safe, confidential setting to discuss potential solutions to their problems.
A mediator, who is a neutral third-party facilitates the meeting. Our mediators are volunteers who have completed the 40 hour training program approved by the State Court Administrative Office.
Mediators are not judges, they do not decide who is right or wrong, nor do they decide the terms of the mediation. Mediators facilitate an open dialogue between the involved parties in an effort to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
Each party is given an equal opportunity to express their point of view and explain how they think the matter can be resolved.
